I am lucky enough to have a most interesting and stimulating past time in which I can engage myself ...as you know "idle hands can be the devil's play things" ..I DO like that old saying..... except for the fact that I do not believe in the devil.
But, I am very heavily involved in local history in a very amusing way and today I had the great pleasure of meeting some lovely old ladies who were very fired up about the state of the old local cemetery that they are caretakers of. I am hoping to get involved in the site and in that way can also hope to donate time and money to help in preserving what is left albiet in a very small insignificant way.
One of these sweeties even used the phrase "over my dead body" when it came to talk about the cemetery's future and the possiblity of the cemetery being bulldozed for PROGRESS and the building of an industrial site.
WHAT????
Can you believe...we only have a history spanning 200 odd years and they want to crush what is left of the historical sites that are so rare in this neck of the woods?
Totally crazy..yet I do believe as long as these ladies still push breath through their withering bodies that in fact...it WOULD only be happening over their dead bodies.....
